I think the highlight, the highlight of my self personally is that I’ve come to know the Lord Jesus Christ, and accept him as my lord and savior since I’ve been here, whereas before then I was just wandering around in spiritual darkness.
The first sentence I was down I came down I was 17 years old. Didn’t have any sense of direction so I joined a gang inside of prison, a prison gang, but I made parole they sent me over here. When I first came here, my first quarter I was in the mind frame where I was just going to go through this program to make parole.
Then the Lord really opened up to me, it was really opened up to me the lord, that the lord really was who he said he was, and showed me was the one who carried me through all the hard times I went through, and that was going into my second quarter and since then I haven’t even think back. I wasn’t even thinking about faith based or Jesus or anything, but when I got here it changed my life.
Now, I’m at peace, I have a lot of joy, I smile all the time, you know people from other units that knew me they even said ‘man you just changed’. And for the guys in my group you know it’s about freedom on the outside but I told them man you know, we going to get there but right now I’m as free as I have ever been. Because I don’t have that sense of anger I had all time. You know Jesus Christ has freed me from all that. And I can say that Prison Academy is a program that works – if you want it to work.
You know I’m at peace, and this is what I had to go through to get to where I’m at now. If I hadn’t of went through this, I wouldn’t be where I’m at now. God blessed me to where hey – at the time – I didn’t want to go through it but it’s what I needed to get though, to be at where I’m at now.
They say I’m a new man.
